BACKGROUND: Prysm provides a cloud-based visual workplace that drives engagement between in-office and remote teams to increase productivity. In addition to the software side, their mechanical engineering division designed its own visual display technology using Laser Phosphor Dioides (LPD).
PROBLEM: The light engine is a highly sensitive opto-mechanical product that often requires repair and maintenance work after shipping.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To design and test a secure packaging process for the light engine to ensure its protection while shipping.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: To redesign a fixture used to measure laser power for next generation light engine under development. To test focal distances of lenses manufactured in China and analyze results against manufacturer's data.
